Martin Foster fired a last-minute equaliser to earn Rovers an unlikely point.

Davis Haule had given the Cards a second-half lead, but the home team were unable to make their superiority after the break count and they paid the penalty.

The first half was a non-event with little goal action at either end.

Woking needed to up their game in the second half and, despite their reluctance to pass the ball to feet, they should have gone in front after an incredible treble miss.

Firstly, Michael Johnson wasted a simple opportunity by failing to hit the target when unmarked eight yards out.

Then Neil Sharp lobbed a shot towards goal only to see the inspirational Foster control the ball on the line, before hoofing it clear. Within seconds Haule's header thudded against the crossbar and almost over the line as Rovers lived dangerously.

The introduction of Scott Canham for Woking at last brought about a bit of cohesion in midfield for the Cards and their first passage of real passing football saw the hosts go in front.

A swift interchange between Canham, Neil Smith, then Karl Murray resulted in Steve Ferguson's cross to the far post being headed in to the danger area by Raphael Nade, and Haule was on hand to prod a volley passed keeper Steve Perrin.

Ferguson should have done better than send his shot skywards when Haule sent him clear and it was a chance boss Glenn Cockerill's was forced to rue as Foster crashed home his unlikely leveller.

"I am bitterly disappointed to concede a goal in the last minute and we had enough chances to seal the points," said Cockerill.

"But we were too anxious and weren't composed in front of goal. We took our time a bit more in the second half and that's why we created the better chances." Rovers' caretaker boss Tim Harris added: "It was a moment of great delight when our goal went in and it showed the level of commitment we put in in the second half to come back like that."
