Accrington Stanley will have to wait to secure their return to the Football League after being held to a 1-1 draw at struggling Forest Green Rovers.

It is still possible for them to clinch the Conference title this weekend, but only with the help of a freak set of results.

The evening could actually have been worse for Stanley, as the hosts enjoyed the better of the chances throughout the game.

Rovers eventually took the lead 16 minutes from time when Alex Meechan fired home from the edge of the area.

However, the champions elect hit back five minutes later when Andy Todd scored from close range to ensure the spoils were shared.

The point enabled Rovers to climb above Tamworth into 19th position.
