Hereford United bounced back from their shock home defeat by Tamworth to record a resounding 7-1 victory at The Lawn, with Paul Parry grabbing the headlines with a hat-trick.

The Bulls went ahead after just 13 minutes when Parry bundled home Danny Williams' cross from close-range.

Parry, possibly playing his last game for the Bulls with a move to Cardiff City seemingly on the cards, doubled their lead in the 25th minute, latching on to a Rob Purdie throughball and firing home from the edge of the area.

The visitors kept pressing forward and scored a third ten minutes before the break through Ben Smith's long-range effort.

Three minutes later Purdie made it four, getting on the end of Tony James' pass and lifting the ball over Rovers keeper Steve Perrin.

Hereford's scoring spree continued in the second half, with Parry completing his hat-trick after 58 minutes by turning in another Williams cross.

Smith then grabbed his second, and United's sixth, on the hour with a six-yard tap-in, but still they weren't finished.

Jamie Pitman headed home 11 minutes from time to hand the Bulls their second seven-goal haul of the season, before Damon Searle grabbed a late consolation for the home side.

The rout keeps United in touch with Nationwide Conference leaders Chester City and took their goals scored total to 57 in just 23 games.
