With both sides having nothing to play for, this game was a typically dismal affair.

However, the visitors were more up for it, ending their run of one win in ten games, going two goals in front with only ten minutes gone.

The Daggers broke the deadlock after just five minutes with Chris Moore turning Tom Jordan only for his shot to be cleared by Steve Perrin, but his clearance fell to Mark Janney, who fired the ball into the back of the empty net.

They added a second four minutes later when a short corner caught the Forest Green defence unawares and Janney turned provided sending in a pinpoint cross which was heading in by Leon Braithwaite.

Rovers began to get into the game as the half went on and were unfortunate to be denied by the woodwork midway through the first half when Alex Meechan's cross towards the back post fell to Scott Rogers, whose header bounced off the right-hand post back into keeper Tony Roberts' arms.

Meechan's himself came close six minutes before the interval going on a mazy run from just inside his own half, but his 30-yard drive dipped just over the crossbar.

Fourteen minutes into the second half Rovers grabbed a goal back again from a quick free-kick which this time caught the Dagenham defence out as Meechan latched on to the loose ball and drilled his shot low into the left-hand corner of the net from the edge of the area.

Both sides struggled to keep possession for the rest of the half and it only deep into injury time when Moore beat the offside trap to fire the ball underneath Perrin into the back of the net to secure the points for the visitors.
