The visitors looked the stronger side in the first half coming close after 12 minutes when Christian Moore's looping header from Robin Hulbert's cross forced Rovers keeper Steve Perrin to palm the ball behind for a corner.

Forest Green began to get more involved as the half wore on and when Telford defender Trevor Challis slipped in possession, Alex Meechan raced through only to fire the ball straight into the keeper's arms.

Rovers midfielder Steve Cowe was causing the Telford defence problems, but twice his crosses into the penalty area were just too far in front of his intended team-mates.

The best chance of the match came Forest Green's way just after the hour when Martin Foster played a neat one-two with Meechan before drilling the ball from the edge of the area past Telford keeper Chris MacKenzie, but wide of the right-hand post.

That was the last clear chance of the game leaving both sides to settle for a point.
