Gateshead boss Ian Bogie is set to name an unchanged side following their impressive midweek win at Barrow.
Striker Jon Shaw's comeback from a calf injury has suffered a blow after he broke down in training.
Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "Gateshead have gone full time, they've been given a lot of funds and resources to do that.
"I don't think anybody's changed their squad as much as we have - and maybe Histon - but at the end of the day they're a better team than they were last year."
"They've had a great start so they will be coming down here in good form and good spirits, so we need to make sure that we perform and if we do that it's going to take a very good team to beat us."
