Forest Green midfielder Lee Fowler begins a three-match ban after getting sent off at Darlington last weekend.
Striker Reece Styche is also suspended after picking up five yellow cards this term, so new loan signing Ben Watson could make his debut in attack.
Forest Green manager Dave Hockaday told BBC Gloucestershire: "We can improve a lot - especially when it comes to the first 10 minutes. You can't give a top team like Darlington a two-goal start when they haven't done anything. We were well off the pace and we have to make sure we start fast.
"We can give anyone a game if we perform as well as we can. I don't think going there and defending is the right thing to do. We've go to get at their back four and quieten the crowd.
"Prior to Darlington we had enough chances to win all the previous three games. Darlington was an aberration. We need to start being clinical and putting our chances away."
